S. Kushner, 24.5. 14.30 - 15.30 Uhr Vortrag in Englisch: "Digital: Revolutions in Printmaking." Kurator für Druckgrafik und Zeichnungen, Brooklyn Museum of Art, New York. Kuratorin der Retrospektive "Digital: Printmaking Now" im Sommer 2001 im Brooklyn Museum of Art.
Inhalt des Vortrages: Digital technology has made the end of the twentieth century a watershed time in the history of printmaking. Computers have transformed the way some artists make images, from initial conception to final form. As such, printmakers are using this technology in a myriad of ways in the creative process, sometimes in very subtle ways and at other times in a very obvious fashion. Kushner will speak about the history of computer technology in American printmaking, the current state of digital technology and prints in the United States, and the issues that have been raised by these new methods of printmaking.
